UBC School of Population and Public Health - Meanwhile, back at the ranch: Health effects of air pollution in rural areas
Presenter: Dave Stieb, Health Canada and University of Ottawa School of Epidemiology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine
Rural residents have poorer health status and spend more time outdoors than urban residents, but there is limited evidence on the effects of air pollution in this population. This presentation reviews factors which make rural residents more vulnerable and describes findings from recent studies in this population.
