Enteric Outbreak Toolkit
The Outbreak Toolkit is a one-stop shop for resources and tools to assist epidemiologists, environmental health officers, public health nurses and other public health practitioners involved in enteric outbreak investigations. The purpose is to strengthen public health capacity for investigating and responding to enteric outbreaks at the local, provincial/territorial and federal level.
The Outbreak Toolkit theme areas loosely follow the steps in an outbreak investigation. There are three main sections of the Outbreak Toolkit:
- Background pages to learn about enteric outbreak investigation in a Canadian context,
- Tools to use when managing an enteric outbreak, and
- Case Study exercises to practice applying the background and using the tools.
