The National Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health (NCCEH) and the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) presented two sessions at the CIPHI Saskatchewan 8th annual Professional Education and Development Seminar held on September 29-30, 2015 in Regina, SK. Newly developed industry guidelines to promote donations of healthy foods, and revised guidelines for food distribution organizations, such as food banks and soup kitchens were designed with a focus on relationships, liability concerns, logistic and food safety issues as well as the importance of nutrition and need to provide healthy foods, such as fresh produce, meats and other goods for the food insecure.
